This table was recently made for a client who wanted a substantial piece for their newly extended property capable of seating 10-12 people with ease for regular family meals.
8cm thick solid English Oak was used for the top. Full of knots and cracks, the client wanted the oak to remain as authentic as possible Just a simple sanding before a white tinted hard wax oil was applied to match the oak flooring.
The legs were made from 10cm x 5cm box section steel with a clear powder coating lacquer. The client requested a thin strip of stainless steel to be inset along the longest edge.
Dimensions of this table were 3.2m long and 1.2m wide. The legs were set into the corners to ally the maximum amount of chairs to utilised without the table legs getting in the way.
This design can be made to many other sizes with the oak treated to compliment the scheme of your property.
