My client had very specific requirements for this piece of furniture.
We worked closely together to ensure the final design would meet the storage requirements for the family of four. They needed somewhere to store their vast collection of shoes/boots/trainers.
Each person was assigned two drawers. The top drawers contained movable dividers allowing different shoe sizes to be neatly organised. The bottom drawer as a cavernous space, more like a dumping ground for bits and bobs.
Silvered oak which had been ageing outside for the past two years was chosen for the top. The silvering is a natural process oak undergoes when exposed to the outside elements.
Movable dividers allow shoes of various sizes to be stored neatly.
A steel frame was hand distressed and coated with a clear hard wearing lacquer.
